Creating an environment built with technology, creativity and flexibility in mind, we are reshaping the traditional classroom setting to encourage independent thought, with our unique curriculum supported by the best and most respected research facilities and institutions in Australia. Partnering with the University of Queensland, Brisbane Lions, AFL Queensland and TAFE Queensland, our teaching and learning means that students can engage frequently with tertiary institutes, high level sporting bodies and have a student high school experience that will set them up for whatever is their desired future.
Brisbane South SSC believes in an inclusive education and one that offers both breadth and depth. Our students have rich opportunities across the arts, through our nationally-recognised Biomedical Science Academy and academic rigour of the International Baccalaureate Diploma and career-related programmes.

Our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme fosters this desire to learn and prepare our students for a life of excellence. Our college also offers the unique career-related programme, one of only 5 schools in Australia, which allows students to combine their academic and personal interests, with both school-based subjects and a work ready qualification, as well as a balanced approach to learning with students creating a ‘portfolio of professionalism’ to enter Year 13. - Learner-preneur
Our unique learner-preneur program has been collaboratively created by our staff to engage students as genuine learning partners and empower them to be agentic learners so that they can create their desired future. As learner-preneurs, students undertake inquiries during dedicated time each day to discover their passions, pursuits and purposes through exploring the 6 global competencies. Students search and discover their individual learning and wellbeing successes. - Biomedical Science Academy
In collaboration with The University of Queensland (UQ), our Biomedical Science Academy provides tailored programs in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical science STEM(M). This focus on Biomedical Science and our partnerships within Brisbane’s knowledge corridor means our students interacts with research, business and industry, such as hospitals, Translational Research Institute (TRI), ecosciences and more. - Australian Football League (AFL) Academy
Delivered in partnership with AFL Queensland and the Brisbane Lions, our AFL Academy gives students the exclusive opportunity to be exposed to high-quality training and regular participation in AFL Queensland competitions, alongside their academic studies.
