The English + Volunteer program combines intensive English study with a rewarding unpaid volunteer role, helping you develop communication skills, cultural awareness, and valuable international experience.
About this Course
Entry Requirements
- Minimum strong pre-intermediate English level or above when commencing the volunteer program
- Applicant must be 20 years or older
- Valid Working holiday visa or Student visa

- 1-6 weeks volunteer program (minimum 10 weeks study at BROWNS)

Start Dates & Availability
A minimum of 10 weeks’ notice and 10 weeks of English study at BROWNS are required before commencing the volunteer placement. Students may choose any of the following eligible BROWNS English courses and should begin their studies on one of the recommended intake dates.
The Japanese Teacher Assistant volunteer role is available during the following Australian school term periods:
- 27 January – 2 April 2026
- 20 April – 26 June 2026
- 13 July – 18 September 2026
- 6 October – 11 December 2026
* Excluding public holidays and school closure periods.
